Program

This year’s Compliance Conference brings you the hottest topics for credit unions today. Attend one or both days of this two-day conference.

Day 1: Advanced Account & Payment System Issues Program

This program will address a number of advanced contractual and payment system issues regarding accounts, the law of checks, and electronic fund transfers. This program is a must for progressive credit unions that want to provide better service, earn more income, reduce expenses, and be able to prevent & recover on hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential losses.

Presenter: Ty Parker

Tyler F. Parker is a nationally recognized speaker on financial institution operational and compliance topics, who over the last fifteen years has taught compliance programs for 45 Credit Union Leagues, the Credit Union National Association (CUNA), the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and numerous credit unions and banks.

A member of the Washington bar, Mr. Parker received his Bachelor of Arts from Whitman College, Walla Walla, Washington, and his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Management from Willamette University, Salem, Oregon.

Day 2:  FACT Act: Red Flag Guidelines and Address Changes

This session will help you develop your "red flag guidlines" and a program that will include a number of components, such as reasonable policies and procedures, staff training, oversight of service providers, and oversight by the board of directors.

This session will also assist credit and debit card issuers to establish reasonable policies and procedures to assess the validity of a change of address.

FACT Act: Implementing the Affiliate Marketing Regulation

The FACT Act regulation regarding how your affiliates use customer/member information for marketing purposes has been issued.  This new law became effective on January 1, 2008, with a mandatory compliance date of October 1, 2008.  In this session you will learn:

- What constitutes information sharing with an affiliate

- Whether the new law changes your marketing relationship with your affiliates
