TVFCU Offers Merit Badge Course

Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union conducted a Personal Management Merit Badge workshop for all the Boy Scouts of America in the Cherokee Area Council. Over 100 scouts participated in the TVFCU merit badge course on January 30, 2017 from 5:30pm-8:00pm at Tyner United Methodist Church.

“TVFCU was excited to serve the community by helping Boy Scouts receive their Personal Management Merit Badge which is required to become an Eagle Scout. We are so excited to have such a good response. It is important that we share financial education with our youth. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to do that,” states Tammy Zumbrun, TVFCU representative.

The 2017 scouting year marks the fourth year TVFCU has offered the Personal Management Merit Badge workshop. The program includes a Financial Education presentation, group discussions concerning personal and business finance, free dinner, and enables participating scouts to earn the Personal Management Merit Badge.

TVFCU will be donating $50 to support the Boy Scouts of America for each Scout who completes the Personal Management Merit Badge up to $5,000 total. TVFCU is also offering a free student account membership and a free gift to any Scout opening an account.

With seventeen branches throughout the Tennessee Valley and more than 125,000 members, TVFCU is the largest credit union in the Chattanooga area. To learn more, visit tvfcu.com.
