Marvin McBee, CEO of Heritage South Community Credit Union in Shelbyville, was the second and final inductee of the evening. For more than 35 years McBee has led Heritage South Community Credit Union, overseeing growth to $206 million from $1.6 million in September 1982. Prior to the merger of the Duck River Chapter of the Tennessee Credit Union League, McBee served multiple times as the Duck River Chapter president. At the time of his hiring, EPCO Credit Union had one SEG, Empire Pencil Company.

Under McBee’s leadership, the credit union grew from a single SEG group credit union to a multi-SEG group credit union and now serves Bedford, Marshall and Rutherford Counties as a community chartered credit union. In serving these communities, the credit union changed its name to Heritage South Community Credit Union.

The next induction ceremony for the Tennessee Credit Union Hall of Fame will be at the 2019 Tennessee Credit Union League Annual Convention, scheduled for May 8-10, 2019 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
