New Brand Focuses on Being a Stronger Voice for Credit Unions After Merger of Tennessee Credit Union League and Mississippi Credit Union Association
Tennessee and Mississippi credit unions proudly announce the Association’s new name—AnchorPoint Credit Union Association. AnchorPoint provides stability and direction to more than 175 credit unions and their 3.5-million-member consumers across Mississippi and Tennessee.
The Tennessee Credit Union League, founded in 1934, and the Mississippi Credit Union Association, founded in 1937, formed a strategic alliance in 2023. In December 2025, members of the Mississippi Credit Union Association voted to merge with the Tennessee Credit Union League. The merged association—the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association—began operating on Jan. 1, 2026.
AnchorPoint is led by Fred Robinson, president and CEO, with Charles Elliott serving as ex officio president.
“The financial services landscape is shifting faster than ever, from regulatory changes to digital transformation,” said Robinson. “AnchorPoint reflects our core promise to our members—to be a stronger voice for credit unions.”
The name joins two ideas. The anchor stands for the stability and trust credit unions rely on—a partner that holds steady through regulatory change and economic uncertainty. The point stands for direction—clear guidance on advocacy, compliance and strategy, and a fixed point of reference for what comes next. The new mark, a forward-moving chevron carrying a compass star, carries both ideas. Its compass star stands for true north, the role AnchorPoint aims to fill for credit unions.
Existing staff contacts and governance structures will remain uninterrupted throughout the brand transition. AnchorPoint is guided by an 18-person board consisting of nine credit union representatives from Tennessee and nine representatives from Mississippi.
“This milestone would not have been possible without the steadfast leadership, strategic foresight and unwavering dedication of our Board of Directors,” said Robinson. “Their steady guidance ensured that every decision remained rooted in our core mission and centered on creating long-term value for our members and communities.”
AnchorPoint is the ninth-largest credit union league in the country, based on the number of credit unions.
“This year, we made a bold, future-focused move—the strategic merger of The Tennessee Credit Union League and the Mississippi Credit Union Association,” said Laura Parham, chairwoman of AnchorPoint and president and CEO of Heritage South Community Credit Union in Shelbyville, Tenn. “This wasn’t just a structural change; it was a statement. A statement that we are stronger together. A statement that we are ready for the next era of service and advocacy.”
For state-specific advocacy and events, AnchorPoint will also appear as Tennessee Credit Unions and Mississippi Credit Unions, state identities within the brand.
AnchorPoint’s web address is anchorpoint.coop, on the internet domain reserved for cooperatives. An introduction to the new brand is now live there. The current website, yourleague.org, remains in service until the new AnchorPoint website launches. Staff email addresses will move to anchorpoint.coop later this year, and current addresses will continue to deliver mail. Member credit unions will see no change to the services they rely on and do not need to take any action.
