Global Women’s Leadership Network Sister Society of Tennessee
The Tennessee Credit Union League is honored to help establish the first Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) Sister Society in Tennessee.
The World Council of Credit Unions established the Global Women’s Leadership Network in 2009 to provide women in the credit union arena a safe forum to discuss issues to further their professional and personal journeys. The Tennessee Sister Society is one of many chapters across 89 countries.
The Global Women’s Leadership Network aims to provide women with the opportunity and resources to make a measurable difference in the lives of each other, in the lives of credit union members, and in their communities.

Reading Chapters 11 – 19
Book: “8 Dimensions of Leadership” by Jeffrey Sugerman, Mark Scullard and Emma Wilhelm
The “8 Dimensions of Leadership” uses the DiSC model to help leaders identify which of the eight distinct leadership styles they are naturally inclined to and helps to develop a more versatile approach to leadership. The book explains motivation and blindspots of each style and offers strategies to leverage strengths and better adapt to challenges, making you a more effective leader.
The spring book club discussions will be facilitated by Laura Parrish of the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association.

Programs
The Tennessee Sister Society of the Global Women’s Leadership Network (GWLN) offers a diverse array of engaging programs designed to empower, connect, and support women in the credit union industry. As part of the global GWLN initiative established by the World Council of Credit Unions, the Tennessee chapter is dedicated to providing women with the opportunities and resources needed to make a measurable difference in the lives of each other, credit union members, and their local communities.
Credit union professionals can look forward to participating in several key events throughout the year, including a networking event at the League’s Annual Convention and a meet-up at the Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC). These programs provide invaluable opportunities to discuss industry issues, exchange ideas, and share lessons learned with Network members worldwide. Additionally, the Tennessee Sister Society plans to organize regular meetings focused on personal and professional development, credit union growth, and community engagement, aligning with the GWLN’s mission to support and cultivate the leadership potential of women in the credit union industry.
