Scholarship Opportunities

Herbert Ellison Scholarship Fund

In 1985 the Tennessee League established the Herbert Ellison Memorial Scholarship Fund. The late Herbert Ellison was a champion of small credit unions and a League director from Bolivar, TN.

The purpose of the scholarship fund is to provide education and training opportunities for credit union staff and directors from Tennessee credit unions.

Contributions received and the income generated by the investment of the Herbert Ellison Memorial Scholarship Fund may be used to assist staff and volunteers from credit unions meeting the following criteria, which may be amended by the League Board from time to time:

  • League member credit unions that fall within NCUA’s most current definition of a small credit union, automatically adjusted for any future changes in NCUA’s definition;
  • The recipient of the funds is a volunteer, or staff member, in good standing of a credit union that is a member in good standing of the Tennessee Credit Union League.
