Being a Credit Union Member is Music to Her Ears

When Mary Kelley got the call that she won a round-trip concert prize package from Ascend Federal Credit Union, she couldn’t believe it.

“I was surprised, and happy!” she said.

Mary won two tickets to a concert of her choice in the continental U.S., round-trip airfare for two, hotel accommodations for two nights, and $200 in spending money.

The giveaway was part of Ascend’s International Credit Union Day celebration. Beginning Oct. 5 until International Credit Union Day on Oct. 19, credit union members could follow a special web link and enter for a chance to win the prize package. Twenty-five entrants were also selected to receive a $75 code good for music and merchandise.

Although she’s not sure about the venue, Mary plans to take her daughter Jessica to see a country music star.

“Something between new country and old school,” Mary said.

Mary has been a member of Ascend for three decades, and she said she’s very happy with the credit union’s service.

“I’ve dealt with others, and the credit union is the best,” she said.

With more than $2 billion in assets, more than 170,000 members and more than 400 employees, Ascend is the largest credit union in Middle Tennessee and one of the largest federally chartered credit unions in the United States. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) selected Ascend as the 2015 Federal Credit Union of the Year. Ascend is federally insured by the NCUA.
