Chattanooga Chapter of Credit Unions Welcomes New Board of Directors

Credit Union Chapters are a vital part of Tennessee’s credit union system. More than just an extension of the Tennessee Credit Union League, chapters bring our credit union professionals and volunteers together for education, training, community service and networking. The Chattanooga Chapter services credit unions in Chattanooga and the surrounding area.

As of March 2025, the Chattanooga Chapter has welcomed an entirely new board of directors. Each member brings a fresh perspective, a range of professional experience, and a shared passion for the Credit Union movement.

“The Chattanooga Chapter of Credit Unions has four new board members with a passion for seeing credit unions thrive,” said Brenda Edwards, former vice president of the Chattanooga Chapter of Credit Unions. “I will be cheering them on as they lead our local Chapter and coach younger generation staff about the benefits of credit unions!”

The Chattanooga Chapter’s momentum today would not be possible without the tireless efforts of the previous board, who revitalized the Chapter after COVID-19 pandemic. Former board members, Becky Hicks (president), Brenda Edwards (vice president), Shana Sapp (treasurer) and Shannon Walters (secretary) found new ways to keep professionals and volunteers connected even when physically apart.

Their leadership resulted in stronger engagement, more consistent communication, and renewed enthusiasm for chapter involvement. The new board is grateful for the solid foundation they’ve inherited and looks forward to continuing this legacy of service.
