Chattanooga Federal Employees Credit Union successfully celebrated its 100th anniversary recently with a special community event at its newly renovated headquarters. The celebration, held on Thursday, June 5, brought together members, employees and directors, community leaders and elected officials to commemorate a century of dedicated financial services to the greater Chattanooga area.
The milestone event featured tours of the credit union’s renovated facility, food and refreshments, branded giveaways, a ribbon-cutting and a special presentation highlighting the organization’s rich history and community impact. The ceremony highlights included Tennessee State Senator Bo Watson presenting a State Resolution recognizing Chattanooga Federal’s century-long commitment to serving the region’s federal employees, retirees and their families. The Resolution will be in the State of Tennessee Archives for the rest of history.
“Today marks not just 100 years of financial service, but 100 years of partnership with our community,” said Mark Fraker, CEO of Chattanooga Federal Employees Credit Union. “Since our founding in 1925, we’ve remained true to our mission of providing accessible, member-focused financial services while adapting to meet the evolving needs of federal employees.”
Established on January 13, 1925, by Chattanooga postal employees, Chattanooga Federal is Tennessee’s second-oldest surviving credit union and the 26th oldest in the nation. The state-chartered, federally insured financial cooperative has grown from humble beginnings to serve approximately 2,800 members today. Under Fraker’s leadership since 2009, the organization continues to offer a comprehensive range of financial products, including savings and checking accounts, loans and online banking services.
