Enrichment Federal Credit Union Board of Directors Appoints Mike Hayes as New CEO

The Board of Directors of Enrichment Federal Credit Union (EFCU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Hayes as its new chief executive officer. With 34 years of experience in the credit union industry, Hayes brings a wealth of knowledge, strategic insight, and operational excellence. His career reflects a deep commitment to member-focused financial solutions, organizational growth, innovation and operational excellence.

Hayes’ credit union journey began in lending, where he developed a strong foundation in serving members. He later served as a State Credit Union Examiner, gaining firsthand expertise in regulatory compliance and institutional oversight. His career expanded into marketing and operations, where he led initiatives that strengthened brand visibility and improved service delivery.

Hayes has held the position of CEO at two credit unions, where he led organizational growth, enhanced member engagement, and built resilient, high-performing teams. His leadership style blends strategic vision with a hands-on approach to innovation and service delivery.

For the past seven years, he has been a key leader at EFCU, most recently serving as Chief Risk and Technology Officer. In this role, he oversaw the credit union’s enterprise risk management and technology strategy—ensuring the organization remained secure, agile and future-ready in an evolving financial landscape.

Hayes’ career reflects a deep commitment to the cooperative mission of “people helping people.” His leadership is distinguished by a holistic understanding of credit union operations, a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes, and a forward-thinking approach to digital transformation and risk governance. These qualities make him an ideal fit for this role, bringing both strategic vision and operational expertise to the organization.

“Mike has been with Enrichment for many years and in every role and project, he has delivered solid results and has built strong teams and strong relationships,” said Rick Benson, board chairman. “Mike would say that it wasn’t due to his efforts but to that of the Enrichment team members. There’s a lot of truth in that view, but it takes a strong leader like Mike to motivate and steer a group in the right direction, together.”

Under Hayes’ leadership, members can expect a continued member centric focus, modern banking solutions, enhanced digital services and support of the communities we serve.
