Fortera Credit Union Announces Cliff Sweet’s Promotion to Senior Vice President of Retail Operations

Fortera Credit Union is pleased to announce the promotion of Cliff Sweet to senior vice president of retail operations. Formerly serving as vice president of operations, he joined the local credit union in January 2022 and has been accountable for Fortera’s branch network, contact center and centralized retail operations department.

Prior to his role with Fortera, Cliff served as vice president of retail operations for Orlando Credit Union where he directed multi-branch operations, contact center, facilities and the ATM/ITM department.

His ability to understand the unique needs of our members and our team members result in real solutions that align with organizational strategic goals. Cliff’s leadership is an asset to Fortera Credit Union and will be instrumental in leading our continued growth,” said Jennifer Ventimiglia, Fortera president and CEO.

During the span of Cliff’s 20 years of service to the credit union movement, he has held nearly every role within retail operations, rising from teller to executive. This first-hand knowledge coupled with his educational background in psychology and business provides a unique leadership acumen that reflects a genuine commitment to the well-being of the people and organizations he serves.

Throughout his career, Cliff has worked in credit unions ranging in asset size from $300 million to $2 billion and with fields of membership in major metropolitan areas, including Orlando, Fla., and Nashville, Tenn. He also served six years in the Florida Army National Guard, where he gained invaluable experience while fulfilling his duties and responsibilities in a logistics capacity for a battle-tested infantry battalion.
