Fortera Credit Union is pleased to announce the election of Linda Medina- Griffy as chair of its Board of Directors. Her appointment reflects a legacy of service, trusted leadership and Fortera’s ongoing commitment to purpose-driven governance and member-centered growth. This election also marks a historic first for the credit union, as she becomes the first woman to hold the position of board chair.
With more than a decade of involvement, Medina-Griffy has played a key role in helping guide the credit union through significant expansion, operational enhancements and member-focused innovation. She began her service as a member-advisor, went on to serve four years on the Supervisory Committee, and has held a position on the Board of Directors for the past five years—including terms as secretary and vice chair. In her new role, she will lead the board in shaping long-term strategy, supporting leadership and ensuring continued alignment with Fortera’s mission.
“Linda’s election as board chair reflects her longstanding commitment to Fortera and our members,” said Jennifer Ventimiglia, Fortera president and CEO. “She brings sound judgment, strategic direction, and a deep understanding of our mission—qualities that will help shape a bold and purposeful future for the credit union.”
A lifelong educator, Medina-Griffy has worked with Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) for 28 years as a teacher and school leader. Beyond her professional and volunteer commitments, she and her husband care for his family farm and operate a horse boarding business. They are proud parents of four and grandparents to six. Medina-Griffy is also a member of the Dotsonville Church of Christ.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the members as the first female Chairperson,” said Medina-Griffy. “I will continue championing smart, member-focused innovation and growth that listens before it leads. Our members are the heart of everything we do, and I’m committed to ensuring our strategy reflects their voices, needs and dreams.”
