Seven credit unions in Jackson, Miss., joined forces with the Association for a special evening celebrating the spirit of cooperation and the people who make the credit union movement so unique.
Held in recognition of #ILoveMyCreditUnion Day, the collaborative event brought credit union leaders, employees and their families together for an evening of baseball, fellowship and fun. Attendees enjoyed a picnic before cheering on the home team during a live baseball game, followed by a spectacular fireworks show to cap off the night.
Participating credit unions included Brightview Federal Credit Union, Mutual Federal Credit Union, Members Exchange Federal Credit Union, Statewide Federal Credit Union, Rivertrust Federal Credit Union, Magnolia Federal Credit Union and Eagle Express Federal Credit Union.
More than an opportunity to enjoy a summer evening together, the event showcased the cooperative nature of credit unions and the strength that comes from working together. By bringing multiple credit unions and their teams together in one place, the celebration provided an opportunity to build relationships, connect with colleagues and strengthen the sense of community across the credit union movement.
“#ILoveMyCreditUnion Day is a great reminder of what makes credit unions different,” said Cheryl Oggs with the Association. “We are stronger when we work together, and this event was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our shared commitment to our members, our communities and the credit union movement.”
From the first pitch to the final fireworks, the evening was a celebration of cooperation, connection and community—and a reminder of why there is so much to love about credit unions.
