Credit union chapter leadership from across the state gathered for the Tennessee Credit Union League’s Annual Chapter Leaders Conference in Knoxville to discuss the integral role of the chapter system and to connect with peer leadership.
One of the highlights of the conference was learning how to host a reality fair for local schools. A reality fair is a simulation that enables students to make real world financial decisions and manage a budget. Cheryl Oggs of the Mississippi Credit Union Association walked chapter leadership through a detailed plan on how to set it up, gather volunteers and manage the reality fair before inviting the group to run through the simulation themselves to experience what students learn. Chapter leadership enjoyed the simulation and leaders are excited to potentially use the reality fair to connect with and serve their communities.
