Remembering Leisa Massingill, Former Shared Branch Manager

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we inform you of the death of our colleague and
friend, Leisa Massingill, former shared branch manager with the Tennessee Credit Union League. Leisa passed away on Saturday, Jan. 24.

Leisa worked 44 years in the finance industry, 36 of those at the League. She spent 24 years overseeing the League’s Shared Branching Program, retiring slightly more than a year ago on Dec. 31, 2024.

In her retiree Q&A, Leisa said, “I have to say my 24 years running the Shared Branching Program was the most rewarding [part of my job]. Adding new credit unions to the program, training them, providing them ongoing support, and the friendships I made through those relationships.”

As we reflect on the many memories shared with Leisa, we are reminded of the joy and passion she brought to the League. Leisa was an instrumental part of the Tennessee Credit Union League and served credit unions not only in Tennessee, but also in Kentucky and Mississippi through the Shared Branching Program.

“Leisa was a great co-worker who loved to have fun and had a great sense of humor,” said Fred Robinson, president and CEO of the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association. “I know some of the funniest times I ever had working were road trips that I took with her and Criss. She was a co-worker, but she was also my friend, and I will miss her. Please keep her husband, Grady, and her family in your prayers.”

When asked what she hoped people would remember about her service to the credit union movement, “I hope they remember that I cared about the credit union movement and that I loved serving the credit unions.”

We certainly will remember your dedication, passion and humor, Leisa!
