Southern Security Federal Credit Union Volunteers Help Youth Villages Deliver Holiday Gifts to More Than 1,800 Children and Families

Southern Security Federal Credit Union proudly supported Youth Villages’ annual Holiday Heroes campaign by providing holiday gifts and volunteering hands-on support, helping deliver joy to more than 1,800 children, young people and families engaged in Youth Villages services across West Tennessee.

As part of the campaign, Southern Security team members helped fulfill wish lists, wrapped presents and supported gift preparation efforts, ensuring children and families in care received thoughtful, personalized gifts during the holiday season. Holiday Heroes connects corporate and community partners with children in foster care, families receiving community-based services, and young adults in Youth Villages’ LifeSet program, which supports youth transitioning out of foster care.

Each child participating in the program submits a customized wish list that includes gift preferences, clothing sizes, hobbies and personal interests. Southern Security volunteers worked alongside Youth Villages staff to prepare and package gifts, helping ensure every child experienced a meaningful and dignified holiday.

For more than 20 years, Youth Villages’ Holiday Heroes campaign has mobilized businesses, civic organizations, churches and individuals across Memphis and the surrounding region to support children and families during the holidays. Southern Security’s involvement reflects the credit union’s continued commitment to service, compassion and community impact.

“Supporting Holiday Heroes is a powerful example of what it means to live out our mission of people helping people,” said Dawn Graeter, CEO of Southern Security Federal Credit Union. “Our team was honored to volunteer their time and provide gifts to help ensure children and families in our community felt supported and cared for during the holiday season.”
