Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union contributed $50,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee for the organization’s annual Double Your Donation telethon.
Double Your Donation is Second Harvest’s largest annual fundraiser, with a goal of $850,000. KTVAECU
matched all monetary donations received between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM of the telethon. Second Harvest
officials said the matched pledge supported fundraiser efforts and increased donor participation.
“Because of the pledge, we are able to stock our shelves for the winter,” said Kristi Rule, chief development
officer with Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee. “Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union’s
support helps ensure families across our community have access to food and essential resources.”
The $50,000 donation was presented to Second Harvest in mid-December by KTVAECU® president and
CEO Lynn Summers and chief administrative officer Kimberley Trimble.
“I’m proud to support an organization that does so much for our East Tennessee community. We believe in
People Helping People, and Second Harvest embodies that attitude,” said Lynn Summers.
