State Legislative Sessions Continue, Focus on Budget Negotiations

Tennessee

We are looking at 3-4 more weeks of the 114th General Assembly being in session. As of this writing, the assembly is evaluating Governor Bill Lee’s budget amendment proposal but has not yet come to an agreement on the budget itself.

Of interest to you, a bill is working its way through to require the proper titling of boats in the state, as we do for motor vehicles. We’re engaged with multiple stakeholders on this to see HB1754/SB1808 come to fruition.

Mississippi

In Mississippi, lawmakers have agreed to a resolution to extend the 2026 regular session “on paper” to April 15, nearly two weeks. The session was slated to end this Sunday. This extra time is to allow for final budget negotiations.
