Women's Leadership Conference

Tennessee Credit Union Professionals Attend TRGroup’s First-Ever Women’s Leadership Conference

The Louisiana Credit Union League hosted the TRGroup’s first-ever Women’s Leadership Conference last week in New Orleans. The 3-day conference offered a unique development experience designed to drive results and accelerate the advancement of women in the industry. Nearly 100 women from eight states attended the conference, including ten credit union professionals from Tennessee. Here’s what they are saying about the Women’s Leadership Conference.

“US Community Credit Union, located in Nashville, was represented by eight female leaders with various roles and responsibilities at the credit union. The conference allowed us to network and grow with other leaders, and also reminded us of the importance of investing in our learning, growth, and both personal and professional development. More than anything, it was a great reminder of the forward-thinking and powerful credit union community we are a part of. We each connected with the speakers in different ways, and the take-home messages were so poignant and well-timed for our individual goals and plans, as well as for our credit union as a whole. We were thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event and so appreciated the time we had to learn, share, listen, and invest in ourselves and one another.”

Group Statement from US Community Credit Union Attendees

“The conference was a great place to meet like-minded women wanting to further their own careers, as well as invest in other women credit union leaders. It is hard to believe this was the first year as there was so much good content to take away!”

Sr. AVP of Mortgage Lending

“I enjoyed networking with all the female leaders that have a similar career path in life and knowing we ultimately are rooting and celebrating one another. I am going to be more confident with myself and others while speaking on my suggestions and opinions. I’m going to challenge myself to take risks, step outside of my comfort zone and stop being afraid to hurt other people’s feelings.”

Brianna Burden
AVP of Branch Operations
US Community Credit Union

“I enjoyed every minute of the Women’s Leadership Conference! We experienced some great speakers that spoke about a variety of topics from managing stress and being true to yourself. Women in leadership from tellers to CEO were present. As always, networking was a huge part of the conference, and I was able to make new connections that will be forever remembered. This will be a must-attend conference for me annually.”

Jessica Grostic
President and CEO
Copper Basin Federal Credit Union

“For me personally, the conference helped me with my personal goals which include being ok with asking for help, pushing myself to always be a lifelong learner, understanding and accepting failure without totally beating myself up over it, and simply being proud of the work we are doing to make a difference and push for change.”
